MENTAL HEALTH

AASCSC is a non-profit organization, based in Orange County, CA (our center is in Santa Ana), that serves all age groups and all members of our community. We believe in an inter-generational approach to building a stronger, healthier community through direct services, advocacy, and capacity building. At the heart of these efforts is the imperative to ensure health equity within our community.

Our mental health program serves all age groups and assists children, youth, young adults, and individuals to cope with their life stressors and navigate through different stages of life. We work towards reducing cultural barriers to mental health treatment, reducing mental health stigma, increasing access to mental health services by providing culturally and linguistically responsive mental health seminars and events, developing teen mental health action groups and carrying out training, event outreach, project and engagement services.

Currently, we provide monthly educational seminars and discussion groups with youth, parents, and other community members on mental health related topics. Recent engagements and topics include early childhood mental health for parents*, teen mental health*, teen mental health for parents*, communication in immigrant families, etc.

We plan to continue engaging in our culturally and linguistically diverse community to reduce the stigma of mental health challenges and help to reduce barriers to seeking treatment.

Direct mental health services (individual, couple, and family counseling sessions, as well as psychological assessment) will be available in late 2022.
